ESTERO, FL - The Florida Everblades finished off this past week with a 0-2-0 record. The Everblades head into this week's action with a record of 24-13-0 (48 pts, 3rd South Div.).

Friday & Saturday, January, 26 & 27 vs. Gwinnett Gladiators Both Games 7:30 p.m. GAME NOTES: The Everblades continue their four-game set vs. the Gladiators this weekend with a pair of games at Germain Arena. The Everblades are 1-2-0 vs. Gwinnett this season, winning the first meeting, but falling in the last two. Overall the games are the fourth and fifth of 10 between the division rivals and the first of five at Germain Arena. The Gladiators enter this week's action in first place in the South Division 24-12-4 (52 pts.) The Everblades hold an all-time record of 10-12-4 vs. Gwinnett and are 5-3-4 all-time at home vs. the Gladiators.
LAST WEEK'S RESULTS
Friday, January 19 at Gwinnett Gladiators 4-3 L The Everblades dropped a hard fought game in Gwinnett on Friday night. Chris Dyment opened the scoring in the game with his fourth power play goal of the season midway through the first period. The lead for the Everblades stood until the early stages of the second period when the Gladiators scored three times in the first seven minutes of the frame. Trailing 3-1 late in the second period, Frank MacDonald tallied his fourth goal of the year to trim the lead to one, and Ernie Hartlieb picked up his first goal of the season with under five minutes remaining in the third period to tie the contest at three. The Gladiators however responded by scoring just 45 seconds later to regain the lead. In goal for the Everblades Craig Kowalski (13-7-0) took the loss allowing the four goals on 44 shots. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-5, PK: 3-for-4.
Saturday, January 20 at Gwinnett Gladiators 3-1 L
The Everblades suffered their third straight loss on Saturday night in Gwinnett when the Gladiators picked up a 3-1 decision. Gwinnett scored the game's first three goals, scoring once in the first period and twice in the first seven minutes of the third period to open a 3-0 lead. The Everblades got one of the goals back on Derek Damon's sixth goal of the season half way through the third period, but could not find a way to get the next two. In goal, David Shantz saw his record fall to 11-6-0 after allowing the three goals on 32 shots. Florida special teams: PP: 1-for-6, PK: 4-for-4.

All-Time 'Blades Records: Midway through the season one Everblades all-time mark has been broken and several others are being approached. Brent McDonald became the all-time games played leader on Dec. 8 when he took the ice at Pensacola. His 289th game broke the previous all-time number of 288 held by Tom Buckley. In addition, Reggie Berg is only 16 points away from becoming the team's all-time leading point getter, as he chases Buckley's mark of 310, and Berg's next power play goal will move him into the all-time leader of that category, unseating Matt Demarski.
Milestone Reached: On Friday night at Gwinnett, Everblades defenseman Ryan Van Buskirk skated in his 300th career game. After this weekend's games, the 27-year-old has tallied 78 points (13g, 65a) in 301 career games dating back to 1999-00. Throughout his career Van Buskirk has played with the Everblades, Gwinnett and Richmond of the ECHL and has also seen action at the AHL level with Springfield and Portland. In addition the former Phoenix Coyotes draft pick has skated with Richmond and Motor City of the UHL and Wichita of the CHL.
Upcoming Milestones: Here are some milestones that Everblades players are approaching in their professional careers: F Brad Parsons is five assists shy of his 100th and is 11 goals away from his 50th ...F Brent McDonald is only seven goals away from reaching the 100 mark...D Ryan Brindley is 13 points shy of collecting his 300th ...D Chris Dyment is 12 games shy of his 200th in his career.
