Wranglers edge RoadRunners 2-1

LAS VEGAS, NV- The Las Vegas Wranglers® defeated the Phoenix Roadrunners 2-1 on Friday night in front of 5,729 fans at the Orleans Arena. Wranglers' center Derek Edwardson scored a goal in his first game back from the American Hockey League. Wranglers' goalie Kevin Nastiuk stopped 24 shots for the victory. Winger Arpad Mihaly netted a goal and assisted on Edwardson's tally. Justin Aikins tallied the lone Phoenix goal in the loss. The Wranglers will travel to Phoenix to play the Roadrunners tomorrow night at 7:11 pm (PST).

In the first period, Wranglers' forward Derek Edwardson found a loose puck in the left slot and fired it through traffic in front of the Phoenix net for his 21st goal of the season, giving Las Vegas a 1-0 lead.

After a scoreless second period, Wranglers forward Arpad Mihaly hammered home his 23rd goal of the season to give Las Vegas a 2-0 lead. Roadrunners' forward Justin Aikins scored shorthanded on a breakaway at 17:56 for the final score of 2-1

After road games in Phoenix, Long Beach and Bakersfield, the Wranglers will return home on Tuesday, March 27th to host Bakersfield at 7:05 pm.
