Reading Royals News Release

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings of the National Hockey League and the Manchester Monarchs of the American Hockey League, today announced that the team has signed forward Charlie Kronschnabel ["KRAHN schnah bel"]. In his senior season with the University of Alaska-Anchorage Seawolves, Kronschnabel (6'4"/201) (24) scored two goals and assisted on six others, while serving as the team's captain. Kronschnabel, who hails from Mendota Heights, Minnesota, racked up sixty four points (24g - 40a = 64pts) and ninety-three penalty minutes in 126 college games and was a three time selection to the Western Collegiate Hockey Association All-Academic Team.

In a separate transaction, goaltender Jeff Pietrasiak ("peh TRAY zee ack") has been returned to the Royals from the Hershey Bears of the AHL. The Royals loaned Pietrasiak to the Bears on February 21, which marked his fourth trip this season to the American Hockey League. On this stint with Hershey, Pietrasiak appeared in two games-a 3-2 loss to the Philadephia Phantoms on February 24 and a 3-2 win over the Portland Pirates last Saturday night.

It is expected that both Kronschnabel and Pietrasiak will be in the Royals' line-up for tonight's game (7:00 pm) at the EJ Nutter Center in Dayton, Ohio against the Dayton Bombers. Royals' game night broadcasts can be heard live on ESPN Radio 1240 am (and on the internet through the Royals' website, www.royalshockey.com), beginning thirty minutes before the opening face-off. Streaming video is also available for $6.00 per game through the B2 Networks, which can be accessed through the Royals' website.
