Wranglers Earn Point in 3-2 Shootout Loss to Aces

Anchorage, Ala. - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 3-2 to the Alaska Aces in a shootout tonight, collecting a point in the second game of the series.

Wranglers goalie Travis Fullerton held Alaska off until late in the first, when Aces defenseman Drew MacKenzie scored at the 15:36 mark. Las Vegas was quick to respond in the second, and forward Matt Tassone made it a 2-2 game five minutes into the middle period. A power play goal from Wranglers center Chad Nehring gave the team their first lead of the night, ending the second up 2-1.

Alaska tied the game 2-2 on an early third period goal from forward Ross Ring-Jarvi. The remainder of regulation couldn't decide the game, and five minutes of overtime left the score knotted as well. After five shootout rounds, the Aces collected the 3-2 win as Fullerton made 47 saves on the night.

The two teams finish the three-game series tomorrow night at 8:15 p.m. The Wranglers then head to Utah before returning home on Friday, Jan. 31, to take on the Ontario Reign.
