Missiaen Nails Down Shutout in 3-0 Win

Greenville, SC: Jason Missiaen stopped 40 shots in the Road Warriors 3-0 win on Saturday night against the Wheeling Nailers.

The first period saw no goals from either team. Missiaen made 11 saves to keep the Road Warriors tied at zero with Wheeling heading into the second period.

The Road Warriors scored 5:19 into the second period when Todd Hosmer potted a rebound on the power play to put the Road Warriors up by a score of 1-0. Andrew Rowe and Mike Marcou assisted on the goal. Missiaen made 12 saves to keep the Road Warriors up by one at the end of the frame.

The third period started with Rowe scoring four minutes into the period when he rebounded Marcou's shot past Mike Condon. His tenth of the year was also assisted by Hosmer. The Road Warriors scored again four minutes later when Marc-Olivier Vallerand deflected Sam Klassen's shot into the net bringing the Road Warriors' lead to 3-0. Vallerand tallied his 12th of the year. Missiaen stopped 17 shots in the third period to complete the shutout. Missiaen's shutout was the first Greenville shutout on home ice since Decemeber 27, 2011; also by Missiaen.
