Stingrays Fall to IceMen 4-1 to Close Road Trip

Evansville, IN - The South Carolina Stingrays (26-10-1-2) fell to the Evansville IceMen (19-9-3-4) 4-1 at the Ford Center Saturday evening, closing a two-game road trip.

IceMen team captain Josh Beaulieu opened the scoring late in the first period deflecting a shot from defenseman Jacob Johnston over the right shoulder of Stingrays goaltender Allen York (L, 28 saves on 32 shots) at 17:34.

Forward Daultan Leveille made it a 2-0 IceMen lead 11:53 into the second period. Less than a minute later, IceMen forward Nathan Moon buried his seventh goal of the season at 12:47 for a three-goal cushion. The Stingrays jumped on the scoreboard at 14:57 with an unassisted goal from forward Jack Downing ripping a shot over the shoulder of netminder Mike Clemente (W, 22 saves on 23 shots) from the top of the left-wing circle.

IceMen forward Matt Schepke wrapped up the game scoring with a power-play tally at 11:23 of the third period. The Stingrays finished the contest 0-for-3 on the man advantage while the IceMen went 1-for-4.

The Stingrays return to the North Charleston Coliseum for Family Four Pack Friday on Friday, January 24 against the Florida Everblades at 7:05 p.m. Grab four tickets, four hotdogs, four sodas and large popcorn for $55 at the Coliseum Box Office. Military and College tickets are $5 with proper ID!
