WORCESTER, Mass. - Despite two goals in the third, the Worcester Sharks finished their sweep of the Norfolk Admirals with a 4-3 win Saturday night at DCU Center.

Charlie Sarault took the puck and rushed up the left wing with speed on a two-on-one. He slapped a shot from the left circle that beat Sharks goaltender Troy Grosenick high stick-side to put the Admirals up, 1-0. Dany Heatley and Colby Robak earned the assists at 9:40.

With about five minutes remaining in the frame, the Sharks tied the score. Matt Tennyson held the puck at the blue line before swinging a pass to the left side. Matt Taormina received the pass and sent a drive to the net. The shot tipped off of an Admirals stick before finding its way behind netminder Jason LaBarbera to even it at 1-1. Ryan Carpenter got his first point of the night with an assist at 15:31.

Worcester notched another goal early in the second period, and the tally would be the only one in the frame. Carpenter skated into the zone alongside captain John McCarthy on a give-and-go. Crossing the front of the net with the puck, the Florida native landed a backhand attempt past LaBarbera to give the Sharks a 2-1 advantage at 4:51.

Just 8:49 into the third period, the Admirals rallied to tie the game at 2-2. William Karlsson's blast changed direction off Stefan Noesen's stick for the equalizer and Noesen's first goal since returning from injury.

The Sharks responded by piling on two quick goals in a span of 43 seconds. Willie Coetzee contributed the first with a wrister from the right ring that beat LaBarbera between the legs at 13:16. Trevor Parkes followed Coetzee by batting in a rebound kicked out by LaBarbera. Parkes' marker at 13:59 made it a 4-2 count in favor of Worcester.

Norfolk closed within one with less than three minutes left in the period. Max Friberg swung a pass back to the blue line from the left circle to Mark Fistric, and the defenseman wristed a shot that went top shelf over Grosenick. Time ran out on Norfolk in the last two minutes and 15 seconds to solidify a 4-3 decision for the Sharks.

Both teams were blanked on the man advantage. Norfolk had two power-play opportunities, and Worcester didn't capitalize on their three chances. Jason LaBarbera saved 28 of 32 shots, while Troy Grosenick made 27 saves on Norfolk's 30 shots.

The Admirals are now 21-25-3-3 overall. Norfolk will next travel to Bridgeport to take on the Sound Tigers in a Sunday matinee that begins at 3 p.m. tomorrow.

Three Stars:

1) WOR #22 Ryan Carpenter (1 G, 1 A)

2) WOR #26 Willie Coetzee (1 G)

3) NOR #22 William Karlsson (2 A)
