'Canes Recall Michal Jordan from Charlotte

RALEIGH, NC - Ron Francis, Executive Vice President and General Manager of the National Hockey League's Carolina Hurricanes, today announced that the Hurricanes have recalled defenseman Michal Jordan (MIH-kahl yohr-DAHN) from the Charlotte Checkers of the American Hockey League (AHL). Jordan will join the team for its game tonight at the Prudential Center in Newark against the New Jersey Devils.

Jordan, 24, has played in 19 games with the Hurricanes this season, and notched his first NHL goal on Feb. 16 at Ottawa. The Zlin, Czech Republic, native has three points (1g, 2a) with Carolina this season, and has averaged 15:13 of ice time per game. He has notched 11 points (2g, 9a) in 30 games with the Checkers this season. Jordan (6'1", 195 lbs.) is in his fifth professional season, after earning AHL career highs in assists (21) and points (25) in 2013-14 with the Checkers. Carolina's third selection, 105th overall, in the fourth round of the 2008 NHL Entry Draft, Jordan has appeared in 24 career games NHL with the Hurricanes.
