Hamilton Bulldogs News Release

GRAND RAPIDS, MICH. - Grand Rapids Griffins goaltender Petr Mrazek stopped all 26 Hamilton Bulldogs shots on goal on Saturday evening as the Griffins (30-17-5-1) shutout the 'Dogs (26-20-7-0) 2-0 at Van Andel Arena in Grand Rapids, Mich.

After a scoreless first period that saw seven minor penalties called, Grand Rapids forward Mark Zengerle opened the scoring with a power play goal with 49 seconds to play in the second period when his shot trickled through a screen and between the legs of Hamilton goaltender Mike Condon. Forward Andy Miele and defenceman Nathan Paetsch had assists.

At 10:57 of the third period, Griffins forward Nick Jensen put a wrist shot on net from the right circle and it beat Condon to give Grand Rapids a 2-0 lead.

The 'Dogs pushed to get on the board in the third period, outshooting the Griffins 12-5 in the final 20 minutes, but Mrazek stopped them all to preserve the shutout. Condon made 28 saves on 30 shots for the Bulldogs in the loss.

Hamilton went 0-for-3 on the power play, while Grand Rapids was 1-for-7 with a man advantage.
