Wolves Sign Chicago Native

The Chicago Wolves have signed defenseman and Chicago native NICK NAUMENKO (NAH-MEN-KO) to a Standard Player Contract (SPC).

NAUMENKO, who attended Marist High School in Chicago, has accrued two assists and six penalty minutes in six games with the Wolves after being signed to a professional tryout contract on Sept. 26.

Last year, he collected eight goals, 20 points and 18 penalty minutes in 40 games with the American Hockey League's Hershey Bears and six penalty minutes in six games with the AHL's Utah Grizzlies last year.

The 31-year-old defenseman has registered 120 assists and 166 points in 298 career AHL games with the Worcester Ice Cats (1996-1998), Portland Pirates (2001-02), Utah (2003-2005), Hershey (2004-05) and Chicago (2005-06).

He has also accumulated 99 assists and 125 points in 206 International Hockey League games with the Grizzlies (1998-99), Las Vegas Thunder (1998-99), Kansas City Blades (1998-2000) and Cleveland Lumberjacks (2000-01).
