Win over Portland highlights Monsters' weekend

Wednesday, SPRINGFIELD 4 vs. Lock Monsters 3
The Springfield Falcons opened up a 4-0 lead on Lowell and had to fight off a Lock Monsters comeback to hold on to a 4-3 victory. Rookie Brad Richardson had a hand in all three Lock Monsters goals with one tally and two assists in the losing effort.

Friday, Springfield 4 vs. LOCK MONSTERS 3
The Falcons scored three times on the power play and again fought off a Lowell comeback to take a 4-3 win at Tsongas Arena on Friday. Marek Kvapil's backhander with 6:58 left on the board snapped a 3-3 tie and was the only even-strength goal of the night for Springfield.

Saturday, Lock Monsters 7 @ PORTLAND 6
Chad Larose scored three times and added a pair of assists, Keith Aucoin recorded four helpers and Colin Forbes' third point of the night was the game winning goal in the third period of a wild 7-6 victory at Portland. The two clubs combined for eight goals in the second period alone.

This Week:
Friday, LOCK MONSTERS vs. Bridgeport Sound Tigers, 7:35 p.m.
The Lock Monsters host a pair of games this weekend at Tsongas Arena, starting with Friday night against the Bridgeport Sound Tigers. Game time is 7:35 p.m. Lowell is 0-1 against Bridgeport this season and the Sound Tigers are in fourth place in the Eastern Division. The Monsters will play Bridgeport eight times during the season, the most of any team outside the Atlantic Division.

Saturday, LOCK MONSTERS vs. Providence Bruins, 7:35 p.m.
On Saturday at 7:35 p.m., the Providence Bruins come to town for the first time this season. That night is Teddy Bear Toss Night, sponsored by Lowell General Hospital. Fans are asked to bring a new teddy bear or stuffed animal to the game and when the Monsters score their first goal of the night, throw the Bears on the ice. They will be collected and donated to the Pediatric Ward at LGH, as well as to other children's charities throughout the Merrimack Valley.

Individual tickets start at $10 and are on sale now at the Tsongas Arena box office, which is open from 10:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday and 10:00 - 2:00 p.m. on Saturdays. Monsters Memos
- The Line of Colin Forbes - Keith Aucoin - Chad Larose all extended their point streaks on Saturday. The trio combined for 12 points in the game against Portland, including Larose's five-point effort. Forbes and Larose each have six-game scoring streaks and Aucoin is at seven.
- Each member of that line now ranks among the top 11 in scoring in the AHL. Aucoin leads the way, ranking 3rd with 29 points.
- Saturday was Aucoin's second four-assist game of the season against Portland. His second helper of the game was his 300th career point.
- C Brad Richardson became the fifth player to be recalled to the NHL from Lowell when Colorado gave him the call Sunday. He had recorded four points in his last two games with Lowell and ranks fourth on the team with 13 points. Paul Healey, Andrew Ladd, Cody McCormick and Danny Richmond are the other four players. Healey was recalled for the third time this season today.
- The Monsters seven goals on Saturday matched a season-high. Lowell defeated Springfield 7-3 on October 28th.
- The Lock Monsters are 7-0-0-0 when D Johnny Boychuk records a point. Out of the seven games he has put up a point, four of them have been multiple point games, including his 1g-1a on Saturday.
- Andrew Ladd has two goals in his first four NHL games with Carolina.

C Keith Aucoin - Climbing to 3rd in the American Hockey League in points, Aucoin's current seven-game point streak includes six multiple point efforts. He matched a season high for Lowell with four assists on Saturday, tying his own mark. He also surpassed the 300-point plateau in his professional career, now sitting at 302. Of those, 233 have been scored in the AHL and 45 with the Lock Monsters.
