Wolves Get Goaltender Krahn From Dallas

The Dallas Stars (NHL) have assigned goaltender BRENT KRAHN to the Chicago Wolves.

The Calgary Flames first choice, ninth overall, in the 2000 National Hockey League Entry Draft, KRAHN started the 2008-09 campaign with the ECHL's Las Vegas Wranglers. He backstopped six outings with Las Vegas, posting a 1-4-1 record with a 4.04 goals-against average and .874 save percentage.

The 26-year-old netminder appeared in 14 games with the American Hockey League's Quad City Flames last season, notching a 6-6-2 record with a 2.49 goals-against average and .905 save percentage. He also backstopped 85 contests for the Omaha Ak-Sar-Ben Knights from 2005 to 2007, posting a 40-32-9 record with a 2.47 goals against average, and .910 save percentage. KRAHN registered five shutouts with Omaha - which includes blanking the Wolves on Feb. 4, 2006, en route to being named AHL Goaltender of the Month for February 2006.

Overall, the Winnipeg, Manitoba, native, has recorded a 71-59-14 record and 2.56 goals-against average in 155 career AHL outings spanning five seasons (2003 to 2008) with the Flames, Ak-Sar-Ben Knights, San Antonio Rampage and Lowell Lock Monsters.

KRAHN has also amassed an 8-9-3 mark in 20 career ECHL outings with Las Vegas (2003-04, 2008-09) and backstopped 117 matchups for the Calgary Hitmen (WHL) and five games for the Seattle Thunderbirds (WHL), going 79-32-7 with a 2.96 goals-against average during his four-year junior career (1999 to 2003).

The goaltender will join the Wolves for a three-game weekend, beginning when they take on the Iowa Chops at Wells Fargo Arena tonight at 7 p.m.
