Providence, RI - The Providence Bruins defeated the Lowell Devils 3-0 Friday evening at the Dunkin' Donuts Center. The P-Bruins got their goals from Martin St. Pierre, Ned Lukacevic and Mikko Lehtonen. Tuukka Rask made 20 saves in net picking up his second shutout of the season. The P-Bruins are back at home at the Dunkin' Donuts Center Sunday versus the Manchester Monarchs at 4:05 p.m. for Zach Hamill Poster Night.

In the opening period, the P-Bruins took a 1-0 lead, while on a 5-on-3 power play at the 17:19 mark. Byron Bitz worked the puck into the corner for Martins Karsums. He sent it to the other end of the ice for St. Pierre who scored his eighth goal of the season. The P-Bruins led 1-0 going into the first intermission.

Providence went ahead 2-0 at the 11:21 mark of the second period. Wacey Rabbit sent the puck out of his own end to Lukacevic breaking down the right wing. From the right face off circle Lukacevic blasted the puck past Devils goaltender Jeff Frazee and into the net for his first goal of the season. Providence went into the second intermission leading 2-0.

In the third period, the P-Bruins added an insurance goal at the 14:48 mark. Brad Marchand skated the puck from behind the net up the boards to Matt Marquardt, who dropped it off for Lehtonen. He skated into the slot and tallied his fifth goal of the season. The P-Bruins went on to shutout the Devils 3-0.

Rask stopped all 20 shots he faced for the P-Bruins, while Frazee made 34 saves for the Devils. The P-Bruins were 1-for-7 on the power play and 5-for-5 on the penalty kill.

The P-Bruins are on the road Saturday versus the Manchester Monarchs at the Verizon Wireless Arena at 7:00 p.m. before finishing off the week at The Dunk Sunday against the Monarchs for Zach Hamill Poster Night at 4:05 p.m. Information on P-Bruins tickets can be obtained by calling the team ticket office at (401) 273-5000 or by logging onto the team website at providencebruins.com.
