Columbus Reassigns Defenseman Trevor Hendrikx to Crunch

Syracuse, NY (December 12, 2008) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have reassigned defenseman Trevor Hendrikx from Johnstown (ECHL) to the Crunch.

Hendrikx, 23, has appeared in 17 games for Johnstown this season, tallying one goal, four assists and 40 penalty minutes. He skated in all 72 games for Elmira (ECHL) last year, notching eight goals, 23 assists and 170 penalty minutes.

A native of Russell, Ontario, Hendrikx was originally drafted by the Columbus Blue Jackets in the ninth round, 283rd overall in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and again in the seventh round, 201st overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft.

The Crunch's next game is Friday, December 12 as they return home to take on the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins at 7:30 p.m. at the War Memorial at Oncenter.
