Hartford, Conn. - Two third period goals from Jordan Owens and Tommy Pyatt helped the Hartford Wolf Pack beat the Sound Tigers 4-2. Jesse Joensuu and Ben Walter had the two tallies for the Sound Tigers. With the loss, the Sound Tigers record drops to 24-11-2-2 leaving them with 52 points and in second place in the East Division by just one point over the idle Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Joensuu grabbed the 1-0 lead for the Sound Tigers only 2:06 into the first period. Mark Wotton played the puck deep into the Wolf Pack zone to Sean Bentivoglio in the right corner. Bentivoglio chipped the puck behind the net to Joensuu. The Finnish winger took the puck and snuck a quick wrap-around through the legs of Hartford goalie, Miika Wiikman for his 12th goal of the season. The Wolf Pack would answer while on the power-play when Pierre Parenteau wristed a shot through a screened Peter Mannino, to tie the score at 1-1. Bobby Sanguinetti and Artem Anisimov both had assists on Parenteau's 16th tally of the season. Five minutes later, Brodie Dupont gave the Wolf Pack their first lead of the game. Anisimov collected a loose puck in the right circle and backhanded a shot on net. Mannino made the initial save but the rebound bounced into the slot and off of Dupont, for his ninth goal of the year. Parenteau had the second assist on the play.

Sound Tigers' head coach Jack Capuano juggled the lines halfway through the middle frame and it paid dividends as the Sound Tigers tied the score at two on a goal by Walter. Joensuu skated into the Hartford zone with the puck and dropped a pass for Mike Iggulden while he drove to the net tying up a defenseman. Iggulden snapped the puck on Wiikman who made a blocker save but Walter was cutting to the net and out-raced the Wolf Pack defenseman to the rebound and banged in his eighth goal of the season.

In the third, Owens would score the game-winning goal just over two minutes into the period, his seventh of the season. David Urquhart and Dale Weise each had assists on the eventual game-winning marker. Pyatt would give Hartford the two-goal cushion when he streaked into the zone along the right-wing boards and snapped a shot over Mannino's glove for his eighth tally of the season. Greg Moore and Jared Nightingale had the assists on the goal, sealing the game at 4-2.

Mannino finished the game with 26 saves on the 30 shots while Wiikman earned the win making 34 saves. The Sound Tigers were 0-for-3 on the man-advantage and 2-for-3 on the penalty-kill.
