
San Jose Sharks Forward Torrey Mitchell Sent To Worcester For Conditioning Assignment

SAN JOSE - San Jose Sharks Executive Vice President and General Manager Doug Wilson announced today that forward Torrey Mitchell has been sent on a conditioning assignment to the Worcester Sharks, San Jose's top development affiliate in the American Hockey League.
Mitchell has missed the entire 2008-09 season thus far recovering from a leg injury.
Last season, his first in the NHL, Mitchell posted 20 points (ten goals, ten assists) and 50 penalty minutes while appearing in all 82 games. He also added three points (one goal, two assists) in 13 Stanley Cup Playoff games. He was named the PlayStation "Sharks Rookie of the Year."
Mitchell was originally selected by San Jose in the fourth round (126th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
The Sharks hit the road for 13 of their next 15 games including six straight beginning Wednesday night in Philadelphia at 7:05p.m. The Sharks' next home game is not until Friday, January 30th vs. the Springfield Falcons.
