Yannick Weber Assigned To Hamilton

MONTREAL, QC - Montreal Canadiens General Manager Bob Gainey announced today that defenceman Yannick Weber has been assigned to the Hamilton Bulldogs from the Montreal Canadiens.

Weber, 20, played in his first-career National Hockey League game on January 8th versus the Toronto Maple Leafs. The native of Morges, Switzerland recorded no points and two penalty minutes. In 31 games with the Bulldogs this season, the 5-foot-10, 195-pound blueliner leads all 'Dogs defencemen in goals with eight while accumulating a total of 18 points (eight goals, 10 assists) along with 18 penalty minutes. Weber was selected by the Canadiens in the 3rd round, 73rd overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

The 'Dogs battle the Grand Rapids Griffins in their 1000th regular season game at 7:30 p.m. tonight before they host the Lake Erie Monsters on Friday, January 16th for a 7:30 p.m. match-up. Fans can listen to every Bulldogs game on the flagship station of the Hamilton Bulldogs Hockey Network, TALK 820.
