Columbus Assigns Maksim Mayorov

Syracuse, NY (January 14, 2009) - The Syracuse Crunch announced today that the Columbus Blue Jackets have assigned right wing Maksim Mayorov to the Crunch. In addition, Syracuse has released goaltender Kris Mayotte from his professional tryout contract (PTO) and signed goaltender Ryan Munce to a PTO.

Mayorov, 19, has skated in 33 games with the Crunch this season, talling seven goals, nine assists and 20 penalty minutes. He has also appeared in three games with Columbus this year and made his NHL debut on January 3 at St. Louis. A native of Ufa, Russia, Mayorov was drafted by Columbus in the fourth round, 94th overall, in the 2007 NHL Entry Draft.

Mayotte, 25, has appeared in 22 games with Johnstown this season, going 14-5-2 with a 2.68 goals against average and .913 save percentage. A native of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Mayotte was signed by the Crunch to a PTO on January 9.

Munce, 23, has skated in two games with the Crunch this season, going 0-2-0 with a 2.61 goals against average and .921 save percentage. He has also appeared in 23 games with Mississippi (ECHL) this year, going 11-11-0 with a 3.24 goals against average and .918 save percentage.

A native of Mississauga, Ontario, Munce was originally drafted by the Los Angeles Kings in the third round, 82nd overall, in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft.
