LOOKING AHEAD:
Rochester begins a three-game road trip on Wednesday with its second visit in five days to intra-state rival Binghamton... The Americans dropped a 4-2 decision to the B-Sens on Saturday, the only blemish in their last five games (4-1-0-0)... AHL All-Star goaltender Mike Brodeur ranks second in the AHL in both goals-against average (1.94) and save percentage (.936) in 15 appearances for the Amerks (10-4-1)... Stefan Meyer has netted a goal in four of his last five games (4-2-6) and leads the team with 11 goals and 20 points (tied) for the season... Janis Sprukts shows a three-game scoring streak (1-3-4) and also has 20 points overall (8-12-20)... Binghamton is 2-2-0-0 thus far on a season-high eight-game homestand... Captain Denis Hamel racked up four points (2-2-4) against the Amerks on Saturday and shows 11 points (7-4-11) in his last nine outings... Peter Regin (1-5-6) and Greg Mauldin (2-3-5) are each riding three-game scoring streaks for the Senators... Binghamton boasts the AHL's top-ranked power play (23.5 percent), while the Amerks rank last in that category (11.9 percent).
Toronto travels to Allstate Arena on Wednesday to battle Chicago in the teams' first meeting since the Wolves took a five-game win over the Marlies in the 2008 Western Conference Finals... The Marlies are 1-1-1-0 thus far on an nine-game road swing, while the Wolves are looking to snap a franchise record-tying seven-game winless skid (0-6-1-0)... Including the teams' playoff series, Toronto lost all four games it played at Allstate Arena last season... Chicago native Bates Battaglia shows eight goals and 16 points in just 19 games for the Marlies on the campaign... Three of Alex Foster's last four goals have been game-winners... Marlies goaltender Justin Pogge is 4-2-0 (1.65, .934) since returning from an NHL stint with the Maple Leafs... Jeff Hamilton boasts a three-game scoring streak (1-2-3) for the Wolves, and rookie Spencer Machacek has a point in five of his last six contests (3-2-5)... AHL All-Star Joe Motzko is pacing Chicago with 23 goals and 38 points in 41 games on the campaign... Wednesday's game features two former AHL coaches of the year in the Wolves' Don Granato (2001) and the Marlies' Greg Gilbert (1997).
A clash between two of the Western Conference's top three teams pits Milwaukee against Manitoba on Wednesday in the back-end of a two-game set at the MTS Centre in Winnipeg... The Admirals are coming off a 2-1 win on Tuesday and are riding a 12-game points streak (9-0-2-1), allowing them to open a 10-point lead on the field in the West Division race... The Moose, meanwhile, had won four straight prior to Tuesday's loss and are tied with Grand Rapids atop the North Division... Ex-Moose goaltender Drew MacIntyre made 27 saves for Milwaukee in the winning effort on Tuesday and is tied for the AHL lead with 18 victories overall (18-6-1)... AHL All-Star Cal O'Reilly has a point in six of seven games (1-6-7) for the Admirals, and Alexander Sulzer ranks third among AHL defensemen with 29 points (7-22-29)... AHL All-Star Cory Schneider leads all netminders in goals-against average (1.47) and save percentage (.942) and had won 13 straight games since Oct. 10 prior to Tuesday's setback... Michael Grabner shows five goals over his last four games for the Moose.
