Wizards to Team Up with Associated Churches

Fort Wayne, IN - The Fort Wayne Wizards announce a weekend of support for Associated Churches, Friday, July 11. The Friday night fireworks game against the Beloit Snappers, will be an effort to raise funds and awareness for the Associated Churches of Fort Wayne and Allen County.

All members and supporters of the Associated Churches will be given the opportunity to pre-order Grandstand seats for the Friday game at the regular $8.00 price, with $3.00 going toward the Associated Churches. Fans must purchase their tickets in advance and mention Associated Churches in order to take advantage of this special offer.

The Wizards will also collect canned food throughout the home stand to support the twenty-six food banks of the Associated Churches. The food drive will run from Friday through Monday, July 14th.

This is the first time that the Wizards and Associated Churches have teamed up together.

"We are happy to partner with Associated Churches," said Wizards General Manager, Mike Nutter. "They have been such a positive force in this community. If we can assist and support their efforts in some small way, then we are happy to do it."

Associated Churches currently stocks twenty-nine local food banks, that feed 6,300 people a month in Fort Wayne and Allen County. The food banks are just one aspect of Associated Churches. "A Baby's Closet" provides new and expecting mothers with the necessary items and skills to help raise a healthy baby.
