Wisconsin Timber Rattlers News Release

GRAND CHUTE, WI - Monday's game between the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers and the Beloit Snappers on Time Warner Cable Field at Fox Cities Stadium was suspended by weather. Wisconsin led the game 2-1, when play was stopped after the bottom of the second inning. The game will be picked up where it was stopped on July 26 in Grand Chute.

Beloit scored on a two-out rally in the top of the first. They had nobody on base when Deibinson Romero and Ozzie Lewis singled. Rene Levret drove in Romero with a single to right and the Snappers were up 1-0.

Wisconsin rallied in the bottom of the second. Ron Garth singled to start the frame. Joe Dunigan tripled to right to drive in Garth with the tying run. Dunigan scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch.

Just after the third out in the Rattler half of the second inning was recorded, a heavy downpour -- complete with thunder, lightning, and strong winds -- forced a stop to the game.

After a rain delay of over two hours, the game was suspended. The two teams will pick up this game on Saturday, July 26 at 4:00pm and play it to its conclusion. The regularly scheduled game for that night will follow the end of the suspended game by 30 minutes and be shortened to seven innings.

The Rattlers are off on Tuesday before starting a six-game road trip on Wednesday. Wisconsin kicks off the journey with a game against the Dayton Dragons at Fifth Third Field. Jake Wild (3-4, 3.57) is the scheduled starting pitcher for the Timber Rattlers. Dayton will counter with Matt Klinker (3-4, 3.87). Game time on Wednesday is 6:00pm CDT.
