Cougars Attempt to Break Record

Kane County Cougars News Release
GENEVA, IL -The Kane County Cougars, with the help of Back to Bed, will again attempt to break the record for the World's Largest Pillow Fight. The record-breaking try will take place following the Saturday, July 19 game - a 6 p.m. contest against the Lansing Lugnuts.
Perhaps it was the disappointment after coming up 600 fans short of the Guinness World Record during last season's inaugural try. Or maybe it was the sheer joy of watching 3,085 fans swinging pillows as feathers were strewn across the outfield grass. Regardless, the Cougars are counting on all fans to be a part of history and be involved in one of the most unique promotions in the organization's 18-year history.
Fans are encouraged to arrive at Elfstrom Stadium with their own pillow. Back to Bed will also be lending a helping hand by distributing a limited number of mini-pillows to registered participants.
Those who are interested in participating in the record-breaking attempt are encouraged to pre-register through the Cougars website (kccougars.com). That evening, fans entering Elfstrom Stadium can also register to be part of the attempt. All participating pillow fighters will be given a wristband for access to the field following the game. After the game's conclusion, registered fans will be invited onto the outfield grass, along with their pillow, to participate in the record-breaking attempt.
To accommodate the various levels of aggressiveness among pillow fighters, the outfield grass will be divided into multiple sections of people. After being prompted by the public address announcer, participating fans will be encouraged to take part in a light-hearted pillow fight.
Following the attempt, participating fans can enjoy the fireworks show from the outfield grass.
"Only at a Cougars game can a fan enjoy an affordable night of fun including an autograph session, fireworks, an appearance by the Jesse White Tumblers - and take part in a unique event like this!" Cougars Assistant General Manager Jeff Ney said. "We're calling on our great fans to take part in this year's pillow fight and contribute towards breaking a world record."
Fans are encouraged to visit www.kccougars.com or call (630) 232-8811 for more information, to order tickets or to pre-register for the July 19 Pillow Fight, presented by Back to Bed.
