Wings Lose in Worcester Thursday

June 3, 2021 - International League (IL)
Rochester Red Wings News Release

A night after scoring a season-high 18 runs, the Red Wings crossed the plate just once Thursday in a 3-1 setback to the Worcester Red Sox at Polar Park.

The Wings (8-19) had chances late to make a rally, loading the bases in both the eighth and ninth innings.

In the eighth, Carter Kieboom grounded out with two outs and the bases loaded and in the ninth Luis Garcia lined out to second with the bases loaded to end the game.

Rochester's lone run came just prior to Garcia's line out on a bases loaded walk to Cody Wilson.

Cody Eppler turned in a quality start for the Wings allowing three runs on six hits over six innings.

The Red Wings managed just five hits - all singles. On Wednesday, the Wings connected on five home runs.

Game four of the six-game series is Friday night in Worcester.
