Wheat Kings Double up Winnipeg ICE 4-2 on Saturday Night

Winnipeg, MB - The Brandon Wheat Kings spoiled the Winnipeg ICE home opener on Saturday night at Wayne Fleming Arena, defeating its provincial rival 4-2.

The Wheat Kings received two goals from Luka Burzan while Ben McCartney and Lynden McCallum added the others. Goaltender Jiri Patera stopped 33 shots in the victory.

The ICE got goals from Michal Teply and Brad Ginnell. The goal marked Teply's second marker in as many nights. Goaltender Dean McNabb blocked 35-of-39 shots.

The Winnipeg ICE have five days off before venturing on a Saskatchewan road trip next weekend. It all starts on Friday, September 27 when the ICE visit the Saskatoon Blades.
