Warthogs and Nationals Suspended Due to Rain

WOODBRIDGE, VA - Tuesday night's game between the Winston-Salem Warthogs and the Potomac Nationals was suspended due to rain after three scoreless innings. The game will be made up as part of a doubleheader on Wednesday night at Pfitzner Stadium.

Starting pitchers Anthony Carter for the Warthogs and Jeff Mandel of the Nationals each worked three shutout innings while limited the offenses to just two hits apiece.

The game will be resumed at 6 p.m. on Wednesday and completed in its entirety. The second game of the doubleheader is scheduled for seven innings and will begin 30 minutes after the conclusion of the suspended contest.

In the nightcap, the Warthogs are expected to start RHP Matt Long (3-7, 5.01), while the Nationals will counter with RHP Craig Stammen (2-2, 2.08).
