Salem, VA (June 10, 2008) - The Salem Avalanche, Advanced Class A-Affiliate of the Houston Astros, will offer free admission to all Pre-K through High School students (including graduating seniors) at games played on June 17 and June 18 to congratulate them for completing another year of reading, writing and arithmetic.

All students coming to the ballpark with an adult on either (or both) game night(s) will be issued a free General Admission or Box Seat ticket.

Additionally, all educators and school-support staff will receive a complimentary General Admission ticket upon presentation of their school identification on either (or both) game night(s) as a thank you for of all of their hard work and dedication to educating and mentoring our youth

"The Avalanche wants to congratulate everyone for successfully completing another school year," said John Katz, Avalanche VP / General Manager. "Work time is over, and now it's time to relax, enjoy the summer and play ball."

No coupon is required, and no advance reservation is necessary. Children must be present at the Box Office to claim their complimentary ticket, and school employees must present school identification.

"Kids and educators can come to either game on June 17th or 18th, or they can come to both," Katz said. "Avalanche players will be at the stadium gates, patting our area students on the back for a job well done."
