Kinston's Wright and Perdomo Are Carolina League All-Stars

KINSTON - Kinston pitchers Steven Wright and Luis Perdomo were named to the Carolina League All-Star team today. The Indian duo will head to Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the Carolina vs. California League All-Star game on June 24th.

K-Tribe starter Steven Wright made the squad after posting a 2-3 record with a 2.24 ERA in 13 starts this season. Wright's ERA is the second lowest in the Carolina League among pitchers who qualify. In nine of Wright's 13 starts, the Kinston hurler has allowed one or fewer earned runs. In 12 of his 13 starts, Wright has allowed three or less earned runs. The California native has given up just 17 total earned runs in 68.1 innings pitched this season. He has struck out 59 batters and walked 16.

Kinston closer Luis Perdomo leads the Carolina League with 13 saves. Perdomo is 3-1 with a 1.04 ERA. Perdomo went his first 15 appearances (21 innings) this season without giving up an earned run. The Dominican Republic native has logged 25 total appearances (34.1 innings), giving up just 17 hits and four earned runs.
