Catcher Matt Wallach rejoins the Albuquerque Isotopes today, May 23 after being sent to Ogden on May 20. Catcher Jesus Flores was released today.
Wallach is making his fourth stint with the Isotopes on the season. He is batting .220 (9-for-41) in 13 games with Albuquerque and has a double, a home run, four runs scored and six RBI. The backstop has tossed out seven of ten potential base stealers in 12 games behind the dish. The Florida native was drafted by the Dodgers in the 22nd round of the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. He is in his seventh year of professional baseball and reached the Triple-A level for the first time in his career this season with Albuquerque.
Flores held a .164 (12-for73) batting average with five doubles and seven RBI in 22 games with the Isotopes this season. The Venezuelan native threw out seven of 20 potential base stealers.
The Isotopes conclude their eight-game homestand today with the first pitch scheduled for 11:05 AM MDT. Righties Matt Palmer (1-2, 6.17) for Albuquerque and Drew Carpenter (1-4, 6.4) for Colorado Springs face off this morning as the Isotopes looking to secure the series victory. The club will be back at Isotopes park for a four-game set with the Oklahoma City RedHawks starting on June 1 at 7:05 PM MDT after taking on Nashville and Memphis in an eight-game stretch on the road.
