
Vipers Shine Bright In Victory Over Stars

Salt Lake City, Utah - The Rio Grande Valley Vipers (2-5), the NBA G League affiliate of the Houston Rockets, obtained a 128-122 victory over the Salt Lake City Stars (2-4) on Tuesday night at Maverik Center.
The Vipers hit the ground running in the first quarter as the team jumped to a quick 4-0 lead. After that, RGV went on to extend its lead and closed the quarter with a lead of 31-23 over the Stars.
In the second quarter, the Vipers extended its lead even further as the team led by as many as 11 points. RGV sent the game into halftime with a score of 62-54.
Salt Lake scored the opening basket in the third quarter and clipped the Vipers lead by five points and a score of 62-57. Right after that, Houston Rockets Two-Way player Trevor Hudgins Vipers pushed his team to a 9-0 run after scoring three three-pointers. RGV led by as many as 25 points in the third quarter with a score of 95-70. The Stars would then go on a 9-0 and close the third quarter with a 95-79 in favor of RGV.
The Stars attempted to turn things around in the fourth quarter as the team cut its 16-point deficit to just a seven-point game with four minutes to go and a score of 114-107. Despite the Stars efforts to halt the Vipers, RGV obtained a 128-122 victory.
RGV was led by Hudgins with 30 points. Houston Rockets assignment TyTy Washington Jr. contributed 22 points. Jalen Lecque posted 19 points. Both Cassius Stanley and Houston Rockets Two-Way Player Darius Days scored 17 points each. Ray Spalding put up 10 points for the Vipers.
Frank Jackson led the Stars with 34 points. Jeenathan Williams posted 25 points followed by Stacy Davis with a double-double 19 points and 10 rebounds. Christian Vital scored 14 points and Rawle Alkins scored 10 points.
