Stockton Kings Fall Short to Sioux Falls Skyforce

The Stockton Kings (5-1) dropped their first game of the regular season to the Sioux Falls SkyForce (5-2) 104-112 at Stockton Arena on Monday night.

Forward Deonte Burton (18 points, 6-of-11 FG, 6 rebounds) led the Kings in scoring for the first time this season. It also marks his third game scoring in double-digits.

The Sioux Falls SkyForce shot 36.8 percent from the field in the first half (14-of-38 FG) and trailed the Kings 52-60 heading into halftime. SkyForce Guard Jamaree Bouyea (16 points, 3-of-8 FG) led the way with 16 points in the first half. The Sioux Falls SkyForce would outscore Stockton 60-44 in the second half to earn the victory.

In addition, the Stockton Kings forward Wes Iwundu finished the game with 16 points, six assists and five rebounds. Guard Keon Ellis added 14 points along with Guard Jordan Ford pouring in 12 points. Center Neemias Queta recorded a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Center Chance Comanche finished with 12 total points off the bench for the night.

SkyForce Guard Dru Smith posted 22 points on 8-of-16 shooting and six assists. Forward Mychal Mulder had 25 points and five rebounds and forward Marcus Garrett finished with 13 points, six rebounds, and five assists through 39 minutes of action.

Next, the Stockton Kings will take on the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Friday, Jan. 13 at Stockton Arena. Friday's tip is set for 7 p.m. PT.
