SHARIFE'S SECOND: Cleveland Charge guard Sharife Cooper was named the NBA G League Player of the Week for games played Monday, Jan. 2 through Sunday, Jan. 8. Cooper averaged 34.0 points, 7.0 assists and 5.7 rebounds in three games, highlighted by a 43-point, 10-assist performance in a win against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants on Jan. 8. This is the second NBA G League Player of the Week nod for Cooper, who leads the league in scoring (31.0 ppg).
KINGS OF THE ROAD: The Stockton Kings have opened the 2022-23 regular season with an impressive 5-1 record, with four of those victories coming on the road. The team is led by guard Trey Burke, who averaged 23.5 points in two games last week. The Kings return to action on Friday, Jan. 13 at 10 p.m. ET, when they host the 2021-22 NBA G League Champion Rio Grande Valley Vipers.
CELTICS CRUISING: The Maine Celtics (6-0) have followed up a strong performance in Showcase Cup with outstanding play in the 2022-23 regular season.
Maine features a potent frontcourt tandem of Luka Samanic (20.3 ppg, 9.0 rpg) and Mfiondu Kabengele (20.2 ppg, 11.2 rpg). The Celtics visit the Grand Rapids Gold tonight at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN+.

On Jan. 8, Santa Cruz Warriors guard Lester Quinones finished with 36 points, six assists and four rebounds in a 112-108 win over the Oklahoma City Blue.
Mexico City Capitanes guard Shabazz Napier posted 40 points and six assists as Mexico City defeated the Oklahoma City Blue 118-116 in overtime on Jan. 6.
Also on Jan. 6, Chicago Bulls Two-Way player Carlik Jones tallied 46 points, 10 assists and four rebounds for the Windy City Bulls in a 122-117 overtime win over the Lakeland Magic. On Jan. 4, Windy City guard Ethan Thompson finished with 34 points, nine assists and seven rebounds in a 128- 116 victory over the Fort Wayne Mad Ants.
Lakeland Magic forward Aleem Ford made eight three-pointers and finished with 30 points in a 131-116 win over the College Park Skyhawks on Jan. 2.
