Stockton, California - The Utah Grizzlies (9-4-2-1) defeated the Stockton Thunder 3-2 Friday night at Stockton Arena. Utah goaltender J.P. Lamoureux stopped 20 third period shots and 34 of 36 in the game to improve to 4-2-1-0.

"We did a lot of positive things," said Grizzlies Head Coach Kevin Colley. "Our forwards had some good scoring chances, our defensemen worked the puck around well and J.P. Lamoureux stood on his head."

Utah trailed 1-0 by giving up a goal 3:44 into the game. The Grizzlies than scored three-straight with Brett Parnham setting up Simon Ferguson in front for a power-play goal at 9:01 of the first period. Utah went up 2-1 3:09 later at 12:10 by picking up a turnover in the neutral zone. Ferguson and Brad Snetsinger worked the puck around to Parnham who scored from the far circle for his third goal in two games.

The Grizzlies went up 3-1 in the second with good puck movement that led to Chris Donovan (3) hacking in his own rebound just 28 seconds before the halfway point of the game. Linemates Marcus Carroll and Kevin Deeth picked up assists.

Stockton outshot Utah 20-5 in the third period but was denied by Lamoureux as Utah earned the win.

Utah continues their four-game in five-night road trip Saturday in Bakersfield at 8 p.m. and Sunday in Ontario at 6 p.m. The Grizzlies return home to play 10 of 12 games during the month of December starting December 2, 3 and 4. Face-off all three nights is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
