DULUTH, GA - The Gwinnett Gladiators won 5-2 in a rematch against the Toledo Walleye Saturday night at the Arena at Gwinnett Center. This was Glads seventh and final game in a nine day stretch.

Rookie forward Aaron Bendickson tallied a power play goal at the 4:33 mark in the first period after Walleye forward Dominic Osmon was penalized for a delay of game.

The Glads carried their 1-0 lead through the end of the first.

At the 14:14 mark in the second period the Walleye tied the score when Evan Rankin snuck one under Sauer and found the back of the net.

The Glads quickly responded a few seconds later when Michael Forney found Matt Krug in the slot and he fired a one-timer past goaltender Joe Palmer to bring the score to 2-1. This was Krug's first goal of the year and marked Forney's second assist of the night.

Forney now has at least one point in 10 of the Gladiators last 13 games.

The third period began with a goal from Dan Kissel after a shot from the far corner bounced off a defensemen's leg and into the net. This increased the Glads lead to two.

At the 10:36 mark in the third period a goal came from Danick Paquette, assisted by Kissel and Dave Phillips. Phillips finished with three assists against his former team.

The Glads sealed the win when a shot from the left circle by Dan Kissel pushed the lead to 5-1. Kissel ended the night with two goals and two assists.

Rankin got his second goal of the night at the 19:12 mark in the third period to cap the scoring at 5-2. The tally did break up Gwinnett's streak of opposing powerplays killed off at 34.The

Billy Sauer made 36 stops for Gwinnett, as the Gladiators improved to 12-4-0-4 and the Walleye fell to 6-9-1-1.

The Gladiators are back in action in Greenville on Thursday, December 2nd at 7:05 and return home to face South Carolina Friday, December 3rd at 7:35.
