Cox, 23, is in his first pro season. He has two goals and two assists with the Aces this season, and has been a premier penalty killer and face-off man for the team. The Richmond, British Columbia native was a dependable player for the last four seasons for Colgate University, and was named the squad's best defensive player in both his junior and senior year. Cox becomes the fifth Aces player this season to play in the AHL. The others include defensemen Daryl Boyle, Steve Ward, and Chad Anderson, and goaltender Alex Petizian, who also played for Portland.

The Aces will continue their eight-game road trip with a Saturday night visit to the Trenton Devils. The game can be heard back in Anchorage on NewsTalk 750AM KFQD, beginning at 2:45pm. The Aces will return home to host the Victoria Salmon Kings on Wednesday, December 8th. For more information, please call the Aces at 907.258.ACES or visit them online at www.alaskaaces.com.
