The Nailers continue their homestand on Saturday against division rival Kalamazoo. Both teams enter tonight's game tied with 16 points in the North Division. The Wings took round one of the season series 5-0, back on November 14 in Kalamazoo. K-Zoo leads the all-time series 5-3-1.
Wheeling is led by Captain Andrew Lord who leads the team in overall points (15), assists (9), and penalty minutes (56). Lord has received a fighting major in three of the last four games. Nick Petersen leads the team in goals with seven; while Ben Street leads all rookies with shots on goal with 73, and is third overall in the ECHL in that category.
Kalamazoo currently sports the league's second best power play unit, converting at 20.7%. They are led offensively by forward Kory Karlander, who has 20 (8g,12a) points in 15 games played this season. Alan Dorich, who was released by Wheeling earlier this week, was signed by Kalamazoo and should face his former club tonight.
