Alaska's Goldie Scores 300th ECHL Goal

PRINCETON, N.J. - Alaska right wing Wes Goldie scored his 300th ECHL goal on Friday in the Aces' 5-3 win at Elmira. Goldie is just the seventh player in the 23 year history of the ECHL to reach the 300-goal plateau.

In his 10th season in the ECHL, Goldie has 300 goals and 181 assists in 571 games with Pee Dee, Victoria and Alaska. The 31 year old is 11th in league history in games played. Goldie leads the Aces with 11 goals and 20 points while ranking second on the team with nine assists and a +10. His 11 goals are tied for third in the ECHL and his 20 points are tied for sixth.

Goldie has scored 40 or more goals each of the last four seasons becoming only the third player in league history to score at least 40 goals in four consecutive seasons. He is tied for second in ECHL history with four seasons of at least 40 goals. Only Trevor Jobe, who scored 40 or more goals five times, has more.

In 2007-08, Goldie led the ECHL with 42 goals and in 2008-09 he was second with 48. Goldie has played all 72 games each of the last four seasons and he has played at least 70 games in seven of his eight full ECHL seasons.

Goldie began his professional career in the ECHL in 1999-00 scoring four points (3g-1a) in seven regular-season games and one goal in four Kelly Cup Playoff games with the Pee Dee Pride. In his first full season with Pee Dee in 2000-01 he scored 55 points (33g-22a) in 71 regular season games and eight points (7g-1a) in 10 Kelly Cup Playoff games. In 2003-04 he set then career highs with 36 goals, 25 assists and 61 points in 71 games with the Pride.

After playing two seasons in the LNAH, Goldie returned to the ECHL with Victoria in 2006-07 and scored 263 points (175g-88a) in 288 games in four seasons with the Salmon Kings.
