Rapid City Rush News Release

(RAPID CITY, S.D.) - The Rapid City Rush, proud affiliate of the NHL's Calgary Flames, announced via a Heartland Health and Wellness Roster Adjustment, two transactions on Monday afternoon.

Defenseman Tyson Helgesen has been called up to the AHL's Tucson Roadrunners. He had spent time in preseason camp in Tucson and is set for his third career AHL stint. The Fairview, Alberta native opened his pro career with the Hartford Wolf Pack and logged a single game last year with the Calgary Wranglers.

Finding his offensive touch, Helgesen blasted his first goal of the season in Sunday's 7-5 win in Wichita and has logged three assists in 14 appearances for the Rush. He is five games shy of 100 career ECHL appearances.

Rapid City also completed a trade with the Cincinnati Cyclones, acquiring forward James Hardie in exchange for future considerations.

Hardie, 21, from Barrie, Ontario, has played six games with the Cyclones this season and has tallied five points (1g, 4a). Last season, he was the leading scorer for the OHL's Mississauga Steelheads and finished 19th in overall OHL scoring with 82 points in 66 games before making his professional debut with Cincinnati.

The Rush return home with sole-control of third place in the ECHL Mountain Division on Wednesday to start a three-game homestand versus Idaho. Tickets are available for all three games this week at rapidcityrush.com.
