Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today Trick or Tweet Night at Prince George's Stadium Wednesday Aug. 31, as the Baysox take on the Altoona Curve at 7:05 p.m. The event features ticket discounts for fans who follow the team on Facebook and Twitter, a costume contest and admittance to a special pregame reception in the Bud Light Picnic Pavilion with a player Q-and-A session, draft beer specials, cornhole and live music by Terry Glaze. Fans also have the opportunity to control different aspects of the event through polls on Facebook.
Baysox Promotions Manager Chris Rogers is excited for the fan input. "Baysox fans have never had this much control over our promotions," Rogers said. "They will determine what Louie's costume will be for the evening, which player will sit in on the Q-and-A session, what first prize for the costume contest is and more."
The team is offering fans a pair of discounted ticket options for the event. Fans can purchase a lower reserved seat ticket for $7 (regularly $14), or a lower reserved seat ticket with a food voucher good for a free hotdog, chips and a small drink for $14.25. The Trick or Tweet coupons can only be ordered online at www.baysox.com using a special offer code available on the team's Facebook and Twitter feeds, at www.facebook.com/BowieBaysox or www.twitter.com/BowieBaysox.
To help fans prepare for Trick or Tweet, the team will post several videos on Facebook leading up to the event, each ending with a cliffhanger where the outcome will be determined by fan voting. Fans who take advantage of the Trick or Tweet ticket offer can enter the ballpark at 5 p.m. and enjoy $2 draft beer specials in the Bud Light Picnic Pavilion until 7 p.m. The pavilion features cornhole and another game of skill to be determined by fan voting on Facebook. Fans can also hang out with a Baysox player during the event, and the player will be determined by another Facebook poll. Any fan who uses one of the special offer codes to order tickets and wears a costume to the game also receives a free ticket to opening night of the Baysox 2011 haunted house - the Psycho Safari.
Fans can even vote on Community Programs Manager Dana DeFilippo's costume for the event. "I love dressing up for our events," DeFilippo said. "I have already been Wonder Woman, Smurfette and Sleeping Beauty this season, I can hardly wait to see what our fans choose for my Trick or Tweet costume."
