Chesapeake Baysox News Release
BOWIE, Md. - The Bowie Baysox announce today 105.7 The Fan Night, featuring the Scott Garceau Bobblehead Giveaway Wednesday, Aug. 3, as the Baysox take on the Portland Sea Dogs at 7:05 p.m. The first 1,000 fans ages six and up receive the bobbling rendition of the popular sports talk show host, and Garceau will broadcast the Scott Garceau Show with partner Jeremy Conn live from the stadium from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m.
Garceau is excited for the event. "The Baysox have been playing some great baseball," Garceau said. "Jeremy and I look forward to seeing them and doing our show live from the stadium on August 3. As for my bobblehead, I'd like to thank the artist who touched up my grey hair and flattened my belly. Put me in coach!"
With the bobblehead, Garceau is enshrined with other local celebrities that have been honored with the collectibles, including Pat Sajak, Lindsay Czarniak and Scott Van Pelt. Garceau's likeness stands seven inches tall, featuring the host in a white Baysox jersey featuring the team's script logo and the number 105.7 on the front and back, and Garceau's name across his shoulders. The figurine is featured standing on the lush, green grass of Prince George's Stadium.
Baysox Assistant General Manager Phil Wrye helped plan the event. "Garceau has been a fixture in Baltimore sports for years," Wrye said. "From his work on Orioles and Ravens broadcasts to his time in TV sports all the way through his time at 105.7 The Fan, Maryland sports fans have followed his career for a long time. We are honored to present him with a long overdue bobbling tribute."
Garceau will be recognized before the game with an on-field ceremony and will throw out a ceremonial first pitch. During the game, he will sign autographs and pose for photos on the concourse level of the stadium. Tickets for 105.7 The Fan night range from $6 to $14 and are available now by calling the Baysox Box Office at (301) 464-4865, or online at www.baysox.com.
