KENNEWICK, Wash. - Evan Sarthou stopped all 33 shots he faced for his second shutout of the regular season, lifting the Tri-City Americans over the Everett Silvertips, 2-0 before 4,721 fans at Toyota Center in WHL action on Friday night.

The loss retained a three point lead for the Silvertips at first place in the U.S. Division, set for a showdown on Saturday night at home against the second place Seattle Thunderbirds. Carter Hart registered 15 saves and the Silvertips outshot Tri-City, 33-17 in the game.

Mackenzie Stewart and leading scorer Parker Bowles registered the goals for Tri-City, who won for the eighth time in the last 11 games.

The Silvertips established the pace with several good looks at the Tri-City net in the first few minutes and outshot the Americans, 6-1. But on a power play, Carter Hart's turnover from behind the net wound up onto the tape of Stewart, who quickly returned the puck with a slapshot to the empty net before Hart recovered, putting Tri-City ahead 1-0 at 17:22 for their 11th shorthanded goal.

Just 18 seconds into the second period, Bowles tapped his 33rd goal of the season into a half-open net, set up by Beau McCue for a 2-0 cushion. Following a crucial penalty kill, the Silvertips recovered momentum by sustaining the two-goal deficit, setting up third period flurry.

They outshot Tri-City, 15-1 in the third period and Sarthou foiled the Silvertips best chance, a late two-on-one that ended up into the glove of after Laurencelle feathered a saucer pass into the wheelhouse of Carson Stank, in position for a one-timer at the right circle.

The Silvertips pulled Hart for a sixth attacker. But Tri-City preserved the win with two more saves by Sarthou in the final 60 seconds.
