Victoria, BC- The Victoria Royals were in control from start to finish as the club defeated the Kamloops Blazers 4-1 to earn their eighth consecutive home victory on Friday night.

The Royals flew out of the gate in the opening period as the club registered 18 shots on net with Joe Hicketts the lone goal scorer in the frame. Victoria's Jack Walker, Alex Forsberg and Dante Hannoun each registered a goal to secure the victory for the homeside. The Blazers' lone marker was tallied by Matt Needham.

Victoria netminder Coleman Vollrath made 25 saves on 26 shots he faced throughout the contest. Kamloops' goaltender Connor Ingram turned away 35 of the 39 shots fired his way.

The Royals held a 0/30.0% mark on the man-advantage, while the Blazers went 1/250.0% on the powerplay.

With the win, the Royals extended their franchise best home winning streak with eight consecutive victories, which dates back to January 20th against the Medicine Hat Tigers.

Victoria will continue their weekend set against the Blazers tomorrow night in front of a sold out crowd for the Royals' fifth annual Pink in the Rink Night in support of the BC Cancer Foundation. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.
