Torres & Godard Recalled By Islanders

BRIDGEPORT, CT – The American Hockey League's 2001-02 Regular Season Champion and Eastern Conference Playoff Champion Bridgeport Sound Tigers, top affiliate of the National Hockey League's New York Islanders, have announced the recall of Left Wing Raffi Torres and Right Wing Eric Godard by the Islanders. Both players were reassigned to the Sound Tigers Friday and played in that night's 4-1 home win over the Worcester IceCats.

Torres has five assists and ten penalty minutes in 15 games with the Islanders, as well as 12 goals including his first professional hat trick Friday, nine assists, 21 points and 52 penalty minutes in 33 games with the Sound Tigers this season. Godard has 34 penalty minutes in ten games with the Islanders, as well as two goals, two assists, four points and a team-leading 130 penalty minutes in 36 game with the Sound Tigers this season.

The Sound Tigers will return from the AHL All-Star break with a pair of home games this weekend hosting the Hartford Wolf Pack Friday at 7:35 p.m. and the Saint John Flames Saturday at 7:05 p.m. All Sound Tigers' games are broadcast live on "The ZONE" FOX Sports Radio 1300 and at www.soundtigers.com. WSTC/WNLK 1400/1350 also carries road games while "The ZONE" broadcasts "The Sound Tigers Report" Tuesday's at 7 p.m.
