THIS WEEK... The Flames enter the week ranked fourth in the Canadian Division with 38 points and a record of 17 wins, 25 losses, 3 ties and 1 overtime loss.

Saint John hosts the Lowell Lock Monsters on Wednesday at Harbour Station this week before travelling to Providence, Bridgeport and Lowell for games against the Bruins, Sound Tigers and Lock Monsters on Friday, Saturday & Sunday.

THE OPPONENT...

The LOWELL LOCK MONSTERS enter the week ranked fifth in the North Division with 32 points and a record of 13-33-4-2. The Sound Tigers, 3-5-1-1 in their last ten games, are coming off a 4-2 loss at St. John's on Saturday.

The Flames will meet the Lock Monsters twice this week, hosting them Wednesday at Harbour Station and closing out the week with a visit to the Tsongas Arena in Lowell on Sunday. These will be the third and fourth of six meetings this season for the clubs.

Leading Lowell are forward Ryan Bayda (11g- 28a=39pts) and centres Mike Zigomanis (10g- 16a=26pts) and Jeff Daw (12g-9a=21pts).

Patrick DesRochers and Randy Petruk handle the Lock Monsters goaltending responsibilities. DesRochers is 3-7-1 through 11 games and sports a 2.78 GAA and a .917 save percentage. Petruk is 3-14-2 through 21 games and posts a 3.12 GAA and a .914 save percentage.

Entering the week, Ryan Bayda was tied for fifth among League rookies in scoring and second among rookies in assists.

The PROVIDENCE BRUINS enter the week ranked first in the North Division with 68 points and a record of 30-12-6-2. The Bruins, 7-3-0-0 in their last ten games, are coming off a 5-4 loss at Springfield on Saturday.

Friday's game will be the fourth and final regular season game between the teams this season.

Leading Providence are centres Matt Herr (22g-28a=50pts), Keith Aucoin (15g- 32a=47pts) and Andy Hilbert (23g-18a=41pts).

Andrew Raycroft and Tim Thomas handle the goaltending responsibilities for the Bruins. Raycroft sports a 16-8-2 record, 2.62 GAA and .914 save percentage through 28 games while Thomas is 13-6-3 with a 2.91 GAA and .903 save percentage through 22 appearances.

Entering the week, Herr was tied for sixth among League scorers and ranked first in the AHL with 10 game winning goals. Martin Samuelsson was tied for second in the Leauge with 11 powerplay goals and Andy Hilbert was tied for third in the Leauge in assists.

The BRIDGEPORT SOUND TIGERS enter the week ranked second in the East Division with 57 points and a record of 23-17-9-2. The Sound Tigers, 4-4-1-1 in their last ten games, are coming off a 5-4 win at Albany on Saturday.

This will be the fourth and final meeting between the Clubs this season. Leading Bridgeport are right wing Trent Hunter (18g-20a=38pts), centres Eric Manlow (14g-17a-31pts) and Justin Mapletoft (8g-14a=22pts) and defenceman Brandon Smith (6g-17a=23pts).

David St. Germain and Stephen Valiquette handle the netminding duties in Bridgeport. Valiquette is 8-6-1 in 16 appearances with a 2.72 GAA and .910 save percentage. St. Germain is 1-3-0 in 5 appearances with a 2.22 GAA and .933 save percentage.

Entering the week, Hunter ranked 5th in the Leauge in shots (165).

NOTABLES...

Flame forwards Robert Dome and Jason Morgan recorded 2 points (1 goal, 1 assist) each in Saint John's 4-1 win versus Hartford on Saturday.

Saint John right wing Garett Bembridge was awarded a penalty shot on Saturday versus Wolf*Pack goaltender Johan Holmqvist. Bembridge scored on the shot, the seventh successful penalty shot of 17 awarded this season in the AHL. It also marked the first time since April 5, 1994 (Cory Stillman) that a Flame has scored on a penalty shot at Harbour station.

Flames forwards Chuck Kobasew and Matt Lombardi have joined Team Canada in Stockholm, Sweden for the 2003 Sweden Games. Kobasew and Lombardi will rejoin the Flames on February 10 in St. John's, Newfoundland. Flames centre Jason Morgan is currently on a five game point streak (1g- 5a=6pts) from Jan. 21 to present.

Flames right wing Robert Dome is on a 3 game point streak (2g-2a=4pts) from Jan. 29 to present.

ALUMNI WATCH...

Former Flame Martin St. Louis skated in the 53rd NHL All-Star in Sunrise Florida on Sunday.

St. Louis has appeared in 52 games this season with the Tampa Bay Lightning recording 52 points on 27 goals and 25 assists. His 52 points tie him for 15th overall while his 27 goals tie him for 5th among goal scorers in the NHL to date this season.
