ON THE SCORESHEET

- Brendan Leipsic picked up his fifth assist in his past three games, recording the lone assist on the opening Marlie tally.

- Colin Smith extended his point streak to three games, collecting his fifth point over that span, assisting on the second Toronto goal.

- Matt Frattin scored his 11th goal of the season to open the scoring for the Marlies, 3:31 into the first period. The goal is Frattin's 30th point this season.

- Kasperi Kapanen collected his ninth goal of the season and he has recorded points in back to back contests.

- Stuart Percy recorded his 17th assist of the season and 20th point of the year on the Marlies second goal.

- Antoine Bibeau turned aside 35 shots, starting in back to back games for the second time this season.

NOTABLES

- Tonight is just the third time the Marlies have lost when leading after the second period. Their record when leading after two periods now stands at 31-1-2-0.

- Toronto is now 11-4-1-0 in games requiring overtime or a shootout. Toronto has not lost in a shootout this season.

- Thirty five seconds into the overtime frame, Providence was awarded a penalty shot, which was turned aside by Antoine Bibeau. This is the first time this season the Marlies faced a penalty shot in overtime.

- This is the first meeting between these two teams since March 4, 2009, Toronto skated away with a 6-4 home win.
