Manitoba Moose News Release
Goals:
- From behind the net, Dan DeSalvo fights off the defender to pass the puck to the face off dot to Axel Blomqvist who takes a quick wrist shot that beats Tom McCollum at 10:28 of the first period.
- While on a four-on-three powerplay during a scramble in front, the puck comes to Tyler Bertuzzi who puts it past Eric Comrie at 17:11 of the first period.
- From his own end, Robbie Russo hits Anthony Mantha with a long lead pass that sends him on a breakaway. Eric Comrie makes the initial save but on the second rebound Mantha puts it past him 51 seconds into the second period.
- While on the powerplay, the puck comes to Martin Frk in the slot and he blasts a slap shot past Comrie at 6:13 of the second period.
- Eric Tangradi grabs the puck off of Eric Comrie's pads off a rebound and puts it in the net at 4:20 of the third period.
- From his own end Tomas Nosek puts it into an empty Moose net at 16:16 of the third period.
Highlights/Notes:
- Axel Blomqvist recorded his first career AHL goal. Blomqvist, who is in his first season of pro hockey also has scored five goals with the Tulsa Oilers of the ECHL this season.
- Dan DeSalvo had an assist in the game. He has now recorded a point in each of his first three career AHL games with a goal and two assists. DeSalvo was the leading scorer of the ECHL's Tulsa Oilers at the time he signed with the Moose (16-35-51).
- Patrice Cormier had his three game point streak come to an end.
- Moose goaltender Eric Comrie made 26 saves in the game. He leads the entire AHL in saves with 1,199.
- Former Winnipeg Jets player Eric Tangradi had a goal and an assist in the game. He has scored four goals and six assists for 10 points in four games against the Moose this season.
- The Moose finish the season series against the Griffins with a 1-3-0-0 record.
The Moose will head to Cleveland for a two-game series against the Lake Erie Monsters beginning on Friday, Mar. 18 at 6 p.m. CT.
