Tampa Bay Lightning Recall Mike Blunden from Syracuse Crunch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - The Tampa Bay Lightning have recalled forward Mike Blunden from the Syracuse Crunch, Lightning vice president and general manager Steve Yzerman announced today.

Blunden, 29, has played in nine games with the Lightning this season, recording two goals and four points with a plus-4 rating and 11 penalty minutes. Blunden has skated in 49 games with the Crunch this season, posting 21 goals and 38 points. The 6-foot-4, 217-pound forward ranks first on Syracuse for goals and is tied for second for points.

The Toronto, Ontario, native has appeared in 113 career NHL games, including 11 with the Lightning. Blunden has tied his career highs for goals (2), assists (2) and points (4) in a season in 2015-16.

Blunden was originally signed as a free agent by the Lightning on July 1, 2014. He was selected by the Chicago Blackhawks in the second round, 43rd overall, at the 2005 NHL Draft.
