Milwaukee Admirals News Release
Rosemont, IL - Ty Rattie posted a three-point game to lead the Chicago Wolves to a 4-2 win over the Milwaukee Admirals Saturday night at the Allstate Arena.
Rattie scored the game-winner at 1:01 of the third period after Jeremy Welsh stole a pass by Ads defenseman Kristian Nakyva. Welsh tapped the puck to Rattie in the right circle and he shot the puck into the net for his 12th goal of the season.
The loss keeps the Admirals in third place in the Central Division. Milwaukee fell to 7-3-0-0 against the Wolves this season.
The Admirals grabbed a 2-0 lead in the first period with a pair of power play goals. The first was scored by Max Reinhart, his team-leading 17th goal of the season, at 4:28. Reinhart was camped on the right post when Pontus Aberg was able to slide a pass from the left circle to him. Reinhart stopped the puck with his skate then lifted the puck high into the net for his fourth power play goal of the season. Aberg and Max Gortz recorded the assists.
Kevin Fiala scored a 5-on-3 power play goal with a one-timer from the right circle at 13:42 of the first period. Frederick Gaudreau and Trevor Murphy notched the helpers on Fiala's 14th goal of the season and fourth on the power play.
Chicago scored a pair of power play goals of its own in the second period to knot the game. First, Evan Trupp dove to tap a loose puck from the right post into the net for his fourth goal of the season at 11:32. The initial shot from the left circle trickled into the crease for Trupp to bury.
The Wolves tied the game with 6.3 seconds remaining in the second period when Jordan Schmaltz sent a backhander from the left point. The shot deflected off the stick of a defender into the net to even the score.
Danny Kristo closed the scoring with an empty-net goal at 19:43 of the third period.
Admirals goalie Juuse Saros stopped 16 shots in the loss. It was his first loss since Feb. 6. Saros had won six straight decisions.
