Trenton Devils News Release

LAS VEGAS, NV (February 3, 2004) – Despite spotting the Las Vegas Wranglers two goals in the first period, the Trenton Titans were able to claw their way back and come away with one point in a 3-2 overtime loss at Orleans Arena.

Chris Kenady got the scoring started at 6:53 of the first period, when Greg Day intercepted a pass at the Titans blueline and found Kenady streaking through the slot for the backhander and a 1-0 lead.

Just 1:25 had passed when the Wranglers struck again. This time Jeff Attard 's wrap around attempt came off his stick into the slot, where Darren Partch beat Andrew Allen to the near post giving Las Vegas the two-goal lead.

After being repeated stymied by Wrangler goaltender Marc Magliarditi, the Titans were finally able to put one in on the powerplay on P.J. Martin's slapshot from the point, cutting the Las Vegas lead in half.

The Titans kept the offensive pressure on Magliarditi and were able to get another by him when Devin Rask directed Matt Herneisen's shot through the goaltender's five-hole to tie it up 2-2.

As the waning moments of the third period ticked away, Matt Zultek was called for a high-sticking penalty at 19:42 giving Las Vegas a 4-on-3 advantage heading into overtime. They would capitalize on Dave Cousineau's tenth goal of the year, a one-timer of that beat Allen on the short side handing the Titans a 3-2 loss in the extra frame. Allen made 30 of 33 saves to make his record 13-11-5 on the season.

The Trenton Titans are a member of the ECHL – America's Premier "AA" Hockey League. The Trenton Titans play at the Sovereign Bank Arena in Trenton, NJ. The Titans continue their road trip as they face off against the Fresno Falcons on Wednesday, February 4 at 7:00pm and again on Friday, February 6 at 7:00pm.
