Chiefs Shutout ECHL's Best Team

Johnstown, PA- Wednesday night, the Johnstown Chiefs shutout the ECHL's best team, Wheeling Nailers, 3-0 at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena. Chiefs goaltender Cory Campbell posted his franchise record fourth shutout making 18 saves. The win was also the team's sixth shutout of the season, also a franchise record.

Jeff Zehr was named the games number one star scoring two goals. Brent Kelly scored the other Johnstown goal.

Tyler MacKay suffered the loss for Wheeling making 24 saves on 27 shots. Joe Exter (2 saves) relieved MacKay with just under 9:00 remaining.

The Chiefs are in sole possession of fourth place with a 25-15-5 record. They trail third place Peoria by just three points. The Chiefs will take on Peoria in a pair of games this weekend at the War Memorial. Wheeling maintains first place with a 32-12-2 record.

The Chiefs are back in action this weekend at the War Memorial when they face the Peoria Rivermen both Friday and Saturday night. Face-off is at 7:05 p.m. for both games. Sunday afternoon, the Chiefs will travel to Cincinnati for a 3:00 p.m. game. February 21st, when the Chiefs take on the Trenton Titans, Dale Earnhardt Jr.'s car will be on display at the arena.
