Checkers Partner With Scouting For Food This Weekend

(Charlotte, NC - Wednesday, February 4) The Charlotte Checkers are pleased to announce today a partnership with "Scouting For Food" in an attempt to help feed the hungry. Checkers fans will be asked to bring canned food to home games this Saturday night at 7:30 p.m. versus the Roanoke Express, and this Sunday afternoon at 3:00 p.m. versus the Augusta Lynx. All fans who bring a a can of food to either game will receive a free ticket to see the Checkers play the Florida Everblades on Wednesday, March 24 at Cricket Arena.
"We're very privileged to partner with the 'Scouts Of America' and such a fine group as Scouting For Food," commented Checkers President Jeff Longo. "We want to do our part to assist Scouting For Food and to help feed the hungry, and we're calling on all of our fans to help them leave Cricket Arena with lots of canned food to distribute to those in need."
A special treat at Saturday night's game against Roanoke at Cricket Arena will be the appearance of two Warner Brothers cartoon characters. Colorful characters Yogi Bear and Fred Flintstone will appear at the Checkers game this Saturday night, courtesy of Time Warner Cable, to help liven up what will already be an exciting night of sports entertainment. The Checkers will entertain Roanoke for the first time this season as they continue their quest to make the ECHL playoffs.

TICKET INFO: All individual game tickets are on sale and may be purchased at the Cricket Arena Box Office, the Charlotte Coliseum Box Office, and all Ticketmaster locations. Tickets may also be purchased by phone by using a credit card and calling Ticketmaster at (704) 522-6500, and through the Internet at www.ticketmaster.com.
Individual game tickets for the 2003-04 season are priced at $7.00 for balcony seats, $10.00 for end mezzanine seats, $12.00 for side mezzanine seats, $15.00 for circle seats, and $20.00 for box seats.
